The fabric on these pants are sturdy. Definitely feels like a very thin denim. Holds up to many washes. I'm 5'2" and I have a very normal body frame with athletic legs and they fit wonderfully well! They actually make my legs look really thin. If you don't like this fabric I would recommend style 2079P which is a very soft fabric-silky.
